The senator’s huge legal team, comprising 90 lawyers, has argued that is contending that the tribunal lacks the jurisdiction to try their client for false declaration of assets and corrupt enrichment. Speaking to SaharaReporters this evening, a senior lawyer based in Abuja stated that it was untoward for the Court of Appeal to issue the notice of hearing on the matter of the CCT’s jurisdiction. “The prayers of Mr. Saraki's legal team are not different from the ones c...

There were basically two points that I was making. Number one, as a party of change even as a party, we cannot interfere in a judicial process that is ongoing. “That was clear. Are You a Diabetic Patient? Please Read This

Image
If you have diabetes, what I’m about to share with you in this post could prevent you from having a premature heart attack, save your eyesight, kidneys, legs, and nerves—even save your life. Diabetes has a devastating effect on virtually every system in the body. This is what sets the stage for a variety of diabetic complications. But, as I will explain, this devastation is largely preventable. Diabetes is a nutritional wasting disease. The elevated blood sugar levels that characterize diabetes cause excessive urination. In fact, diabetes mellitus is taken from two Greek words meaning “to pass through” and “Sugar" referring to excessive glucose-laden urination. Elevated blood sugar...

Get Ready to Jail 5000 Pastors, CAN tells El Rufai

Image
The Kaduna State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, on Tuesday, said the over 5,000 pastors in the PFN would rather obey God than obey the proposed preaching bill currently before the state House of Assembly when passed into law. The state PFN chairman, Prof. Femi Ehinmidu, who spoke at a stakeholders’ roundtable conference in Kaduna, expressed concern on the bill being sponsored by the state government. Ehinmidu told the state government to be ready to jail the over 5,000 pastors in the state’s PFN if the government believed it could muzzle the citizens to pass the bill into law. He argued that the bill remained a recipe for crisis in the state when passed into law. Ehinmidu pointed out that unless the government carried out wider consultations among critical stakeholders, the bill, which he claimed started on a faulty note, was bound to fail. The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has, however, cautioned religious leaders against politicising the bill bef...
