STRIKE ACTION KILLS MAPOLY STUDENT
NDII mass communication students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic
took to road on Saturday to pay their last respect for a course mate, Amusan
Darasimi who died on Monday, 3rd May.
The students walked from the school gate to
Pansheke in solidarity to the deceased soul. After the observation of
a-minute-silence cum prayer session, they progressed to
Darasimi’s family house along Abeola Way, Abeokuta.
We learnt that her sister addressed the students on behalf
of the family while she explained the efforts put in place to prevent the
occurrence.
According to a source, she said her death would have been
averted if the Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta had continued their
treatments on her when she was taking there.
Darasimi died in Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro after an obstruct
hurt in treatment at the Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta due to an order for
the stoppage of all medical attention to support of strike action embarked on
by medical professionals.
“She would have been safe if not for a man who gave directive
that all treatment should stop. From there, we rushed her to Lantoro where she
was confirmed dead”, said Darasimi’s Sister
We also learned that students, after hearing this sadden
story, decided to barricade the federal hospital but was prevented by the representatives of student
executives and elders that were present.
They were urged to channel their anger through the appropriate
medium.
We pray to God to give her family the fortitude to bear her
lost.
Hmmmm this is awful
