NASS Crisis resolve: Gbajabiamila emerges as the new Majority Leader
Report reaching us said an House of Representative law maker representing Surulere Federal Constituency, Femi Gbajabiamila, has been named the new Majority Leader in the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly
It could be recall that Gbajabiamila, who was the minority leader in the 7th Assembly, was the All Progressives Congress (APC) choice for the post of Speaker but was hijacked by Hon. Yakubu Dongara with the support of the People Democratic Party (PDP) members in the house.
The crisis came to limelight when Dogara rejected the party’s demand that Mr. Gbajabiamila should be given the majority leader position which breaks the house into two factions, each insisting on its term for resolving the conflict.
Also, Ado Doguwa was named chief whip and Buba Jibrin, deputy leader. Pally Iraise was named deputy whip.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met the representatives ahead of their resumption today which can b said to have brought the party's back to shape.
