Adoption Technology needed to grow African Brand - Experts

The level of technology adoption required to promote Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) brands in Africa has been rated low by experts.

This was stated by the Founder, Olakunle Soriyan Company, OlaKunle Soriyan, who lamented that most business ideas and products emanating from Nigeria and other African nations often fail to pass the test of universality resulting from little or no consideration for technolog.

Stating  this at the press briefing that preceded the three-legged nation-building and thought leadership exchange programme  titled 'Ideas Going Global: Business Cocktail, the SME expert identified computer, internet and telecommunications as the three elements of technology that must be better engaged if made in Nigeria brands are to be appreciated globally.

With the theme " A NEW ECONOMY: The African Imperative, the programme slated for Fri. 4th, Fri. 11th and Sun. 13th of Dec. in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt respectively, witnessed impressive turnout in its First leg in Lagos on Friday even as many registered participants were prevented by heavy traffic gams from reaching the venue on time or at all.

Microsoft as  a principal partner of Soriyan on the programme did not hold a contrary view as it explained that "partnering with Olakunle on the journey was an attemp to empower individuals to achieve more and receive better appreciation on their entrepreneural  instincts through modern technology found at the finger tip of Microsoft"

The programme, which according to the organizers is to beam its search light on as many atoms of talent as possible in Nigeria, will not end without commendable impacts as it has promised to mentor young entrepreneurs in such a way that their ideas could gain global recognition, transferability and befitting rewards.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government was also encouraged by the organizers to provide enabling environment for SME growth just as the United States and some other developed countries of the world have been doing.

"The American government does not only support business ideas and initiatives of individuals by providing enabling environment, it first of all find these individuals. It is high time Nigeria also faced the reality", Soriyan explained.

Expressing his passion for the economic development of his motherland, Soriyan assured that the programme was not a paid one as any interested individuals can register freely for participation through the link gg.olakunlesorinya.com.
