Asuu Plead With Fashola On Hostel Building In LASU.



Lagos State Government has been urged to amend the law establishing the Lagos State University, Ojo with a view to converting it to a residential institution by building hostels for them.

The interim chairman, Academic Staff Union of University LASU chapter, Comrade Sawanu Asokere told Newsdeskblogspot.com that this would allow the students to attend lectures promptly

Asokere said being a non residential institution, those students who lived far away from the university campus normally found it pretty difficult to get to school on time because of traffic log jam besides they were sometimes fatigues when they got to school.

According to him, students lived far away from the university because there was no accommodation for them in Ojo and its environs because of the increasing number of students and the fact that the area was fast becoming cosmopolitan thereby attracting people to the area

Asokere however commended the state government for the monumental projects either completed or on-going in LASU to make it ranked as one of the best university in the country and also for lowering the school fees.

The ASUU boss while saying that the relationship between his member and the school management was cordial said they would continue to maintain the status quo  with the view to making the  institution a reference point and impacting positively on the students and make the academic calender of the school stable.

He added that the school authority was working assiduously graduates of the university particularly the Part-Time students got their certificate within possible shortest time without tears.
