APC Crisis: Tinubu, Akande boycott the APC NEC meeting

Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Interim Chairman, Bisi Akande of the party are absent in the ongoing National Executive meeting of the All Progressives Congress holding at the party secretariat in Abuja. The presently at the meeting is the President, Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President, Prof. Yomi Osinbajo, the Speaker, Mr. Dongara and the Senator Ahmed Lawan. Other present are the deputy speaker, Suleiman Lasun, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Senator Kwankwaso, governors of Yobe, Plateau and Ogun State governor. The deputy governors of Nasarawa, Borno and Bauchi are also around. Update on the outcome of the meeting will be make know later

Aremu cautions PMB against Remover of Oil Subsidy

The General Secretary, Textile Workers Union and former Nigeria Labour Congress Vice president,  Issa Aremu, has warned the Federal Government against fuel subsidy removal and further devaluation of the naira. Aremu said that the recent calls for subsidy removal and naira devaluation was to set the new administration against the people's oriented services and plans promised by the APC. President of the 8th Senate Assembly, Bukola Saraki, has assured Nigerians that the Senate would work toward ensuring the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) into law. He said that the Senate would continue to embrace dialogue to fast-track easy passage of the Bill. The Senate President made this promise while hosting the Managing Director, Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Mr Osagie Okunbor and his team in his office in Abuja. APC can't longer fulfill its Promises - Lai Mohammed

                             by Bayo Azeez The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that they cannot fulfill their campaign promises in Nigeria as the Pro-PDP Senators have hijacked the National Assembly seats. This was made known today by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Lai Mohammed, in an interview on Channels TV Breakfast show. Lai Mohammed lamented that it would be difficult for the Executives to carry out their developmental plans and policies, which Nigerians have given them the mandate through the General Elections, under the current Pro-PDP senate caucus. Dangote Group has  planned to construct a gas pipeline to address power supply challenges in Lagos State. Speaking at the  courtesy visit to the office of the Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said plans have been concluded to remedy the power menace in Lagos. “ There will be 24 hours electricity in Lagos as we have assured him (Gov. Kaduna state governor, Nasir El Rufai has restructured the state ministries, downsizing it from 19 to 13. This development was contained in a statement released by his media aide, Samaila Aruwan.  According to the statement, the reduction is being carried out to cut the cost of running the various ministries. "Accordingly, the Kaduna State government has announced the restructuring of its ministries from 19 to 13. This is intended to cut costs, spur efficiency and improve service delivery,” the statement read. It also added in the statement that the Ministry of Information has been decentralized. Every Ministry in the state is now to have a Public Relations officer whose responsibility it will be to inform residents of the state about the developments in their various ministries. President Buhari supports the Seraki, Dongora

Presidency has released a statement saying that the President thrown his supports for the emerged National Assembly leaders. It stated that President Buhari has noted the outcome of the elections of Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President and Honourable Yakubu Dogara as  Speaker, House of Representatives. President Buhari reiterated his earlier position that he doesn't wants to be drawn into the politics of the National Assembly but will work with whoever the lawmakers elect as their leaders. According to the statement made available by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina read, "President Buhari had said in an earlier statement that he did not have any preferred candidate for the Senate and the House of Representatives, and that he was willing to work with whoever the lawmakers elected. That sentiment still stands. Though he would have preferred the new leaders to have emerged through the process established by the party.”

Tinubu reaction to National Assembly decision

Senator Bola Tinubu was not dumbfounded over Bukola Saraki’s winning of the post of the President of the Senate. The events at the National Assembly has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders speechless. As He, with others APC leaders, left the International Conference Centre in Abuja where they were supposed to have a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, they could not comment on what have happened at the National Assembly. The Asiwaju of Lagos said that he had not comment nor reaction concerning the issue while leaving venue for the proposed meeting with the President.  “I have no comment, I have no reaction,” the APC National leadwr said. FG bans Ogogoro, to consifiscate substance

The Federal government has officially ban the local gin called Ogogoro following several deaths in Ondo and Rivers states after the consumption of the substance. The ban was announced by the DG of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dr. Paul Orhii . He revealed that 38 persons died from consuming ogogoro in Rivers state recently while several casualties where also recorded in Ondo state. According to him, All banned products will be confiscated and destroyed.
