by Bayo Azeez
The All Progressives Congress (APC)
has said that they cannot fulfill their campaign promises in Nigeria as the
Pro-PDP Senators have hijacked the National Assembly seats.
This was made known today by the
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Lai Mohammed, in an interview on
Channels TV Breakfast show.
Lai Mohammed lamented that it would
be difficult for the Executives to carry out their developmental plans and
policies, which Nigerians have given them the mandate through the General
Elections, under the current Pro-PDP senate caucus.
According to him, “APC can’t fulfill it campaign promises anymore because it didn’t get the Senate President
and Speaker that it wanted.
"What we have in the Senate now is
the Pro-PDP senates which are not in the interest of our party. How do you
expect us to sit with Ekweremadu and Mark to discuss matter of National
importance” Lai Mohammed.
The APC, on Tuesday, lost it proffered
candidates for the seat of the Senate and House of Representative to some
faction of the APC in alliance with the PDP Senators-elect while attending to
the meeting at the International Conference Centre in Abuja where they
were supposed to have a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting end abruptly on hearing the news of the
election at the National Assemble where Senator Bukola Seraki and Honourable Yakubu
Dogara as the Senate President and Speaker respectively .
